FAQ Mathilda

Mathilda boat trip

Where can we find the launch Mathilda?
The boat is located at the Tegeler See, at the Greenwichpromenade, Bridge 6, 13507 Berlin. We are located directly in front of the “Pavillon am See”. Please understand that delays will be deducted from your journey time. So please be there too early rather than too late.

Where is the best place to park the car? It is best to park at the public car parks at the side of the road or in the multi-storey car park "Parken Tegeler Seeterrassen" (Wilkestraße 14, 13507 Berlin). What other travel options do we have? You can also reach the Mathilda by public transport. The best way is to get to Alt-Tegel underground station. Here you can take the underground: U6 and buses: 124, 125, 133, 220 and 222. From here it is a 10 min walk (800 m). Please note: there is currently a substitute bus service on the U6!
There is also the Tegel S-Bahn station on the S25 line. From here it is a 15 min walk (1300 m).

Can we get to the boat earlier, e.g. to store drinks or put up decorations?
Unfortunately, this is not possible for organisational reasons. We can only let you on board as a complete group and at the earliest 10 minutes before the agreed start time.

What route do we take and can we stop for a swim?
If the weather is fine, your boat trip will definitely take you out onto Lake Tegel. Here you can drop anchor almost anywhere and go swimming. If you have a long journey (6 hours or more), you can take a tour on the Oberhavel, towards Nieder Neuendorf or into the centre of Berlin. Your crew will be happy to advise you and discuss the best route with you on the day of the trip.

Is the Mathilda barrier-free?
No, unfortunately not.

Are high heels the appropriate footwear on the boat?
No! Please bring sneakers.

What happens in bad weather?
The saloon of the Mathilda is covered and offers 100% protection from rain with the side windows. It is not possible to postpone the tour to another day due to bad weather. Only in case of severe weather (hail, storm, volcanic eruption, earthquake, thunder & lightning) the tour will be cancelled by us. You will then receive an alternative date or your money back. Please do not be misled by weather forecasts!
