Mathilda is an electric-powered party boat for up to 25 guests – perfect for team events and birthday celebrations in Berlin. The spacious sun deck provides an inviting setting for celebrating together, while the sheltered saloon offers comfort even when it rains. A Bluetooth sound system, optional BBQ service and swimming stops make your time on the water even more enjoyable. Your cruise starts in Berlin-Tegel on Lake Tegel.

Catering, drinks and barbecues on board

You are welcome to bring your own food free of charge. Bringing your own drinks generally incurs a corkage fee, or you can choose the drinks package. The optional barbecue service includes a grill master, gas and cleaning afterwards. External catering is also possible, but only when combined with the drinks package. Operating season, cruise duration and routes

Mathilda is available for private cruises from April to November, with a minimum booking duration of three hours. Popular cruising areas include Lake Tegel, the Upper Havel and the waterways around Spandau. Depending on conditions, your cruise can include stops at anchor for swimming and barbecuing.

Longer cruises of more than six hours may also reach central Berlin or head towards Lake Wannsee and Potsdam. You can specify your preferred departure time and route when making your enquiry.

Home port and boarding in Berlin-Tegel

Mathilda departs from Greenwichpromenade, Bridge 6, 13507 Berlin-Tegel, directly on Lake Tegel. The boarding point is located in front of the Pavillon am See ice cream café.

Your regular cruise begins and ends here. With direct access to Lake Tegel, even shorter trips allow you to explore the bays and waterways of northern Berlin.

Frequently asked questions about Mathilda

Are the captain and deckhand included in the hire price?

Yes. Mathilda is hired with a captain and deckhand. You do not need to operate the boat yourself.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

You can bring your own food free of charge. If you bring your own drinks without booking the drinks package, a corkage fee of €10 per person aged five or older applies.

Which optional extras are available?

The drinks package costs €10 per guest per hour. Ice cubes and cooling packs are available for €30, while disposal of up to 60 litres of rubbish costs €20.

Can I bring a DJ or my own sound system?

Setting up a DJ system is not permitted aboard Mathilda. A Bluetooth sound system is provided, and guests are asked not to bring their own speakers.

Are all-male groups, such as bachelor parties, allowed aboard Mathilda?

Unfortunately, all-male groups are not permitted aboard Mathilda. This also applies to bachelor parties consisting exclusively of men.

We had a wonderful trip on the Mathilda for our 80th birthday. Thanks to the size of the boat, we were able to sit comfortably both inside and outside, since the weather was a bit unpredictable this September. We still stopped for a swim and had a lot of fun jumping into the rather cool water. Our skipper told us some interesting facts about the former border fortifications, and we were treated to a fantastic barbecue. Thank you so, so much for this wonderful experience.

We booked the Mathilda barge for a 60th birthday party and had a fantastic time. We grilled on board, stopped for a swim, and experienced the most beautiful sunset from the water. Our skipper Ole and his colleague Manu were very friendly and helped make it a wonderful afternoon for us. We were 21 guests and had plenty of space: we danced upstairs and had the buffet below deck. There is a counter where the buffet can be set up, and downstairs there are benches with tables. Thanks to its electric motor, the boat is pleasantly quiet. The Mathilda may not be the newest boat, but it is very well maintained, clean, and has a cozy charm. The communication and planning before the party were very reliable by email. I celebrated my birthday on the Mathilda for the second time and can highly recommend this boat. It's the perfect location on the water. The team is also super friendly and helpful, and in good weather you can anchor on Lake Tegel and go for a swim. The electric motor is completely silent and makes the trip even more relaxing. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars!

We had a great team outing for 3 hours with the barge Mathilda. All the arrangements in advance went smoothly. The drinks package was super extensive and sufficient. The barbecue on board was also great (delicious). One of the two skippers even took on the role of barbecue master. Always happy to return!
