Rent a boat in winter

Looking for a location for your Christmas party in Berlin?

Enjoy a steaming mulled wine on the upper deck of a boat while the city with its numerous sights passes by. The finest Berlin Christmas cuisine is served in the saloon. On some boats you can bring your own food and drinks free of charge. Some boats have a fireplace, jacuzzi or sauna.

Recommendations for boats in winter:

  • The Hot-Tub-Boat and the Sauna-Boat depart from the "Insel der Jugend" and are suitable for small groups. Take your loved ones on a trip through Berlin in Germany's most famous floating hot tub or drop anchor with a sauna.

  • The Goldelse sails across Wannsee lake and around Pfaueninsel island in winter. There is room for groups of up to 20 people for a winter boat trip. The heated saloon is enclosed and the sun deck is furnished with blankets. A cooker for mulled wine is also available on request. Food and drinks can be taken on board free of charge.

All boats are heated and have cosy blankets in the outdoor areas. Self-drive boats are only available again from the end of March.

Boats in winter

Can I rent a small boat to drive myself in winter?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. All boats and rafts for self-drive go into winter storage at the end of October at the latest. Demand is simply too low and the risk of the boats freezing is too great.

What is the best time of day for a boat trip in winter?

It gets dark early in winter. Therefore, it is best to plan your tour around sunset. Use the sun of the day to recharge your batteries and enjoy the sunset. Afterwards, the city will shine in a new light and you will get a completely different impression of Berlin. Popular times in winter are between 3 pm and 8 pm.
